In line with Türkiye's national technology vision, the leading actors of the defense sector are increasing their contacts with trained Turkish brain power abroad. "Technology and Competence Meetings" organized within the framework of the National Competence Move implemented by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) opened its doors in Munich, Germany. The organization held under the coordination of the Defense Industry Academy; It brought together undergraduate and graduate students studying in Germany, industry professional engineers and respected academics with Turkish technology giants under one roof.
Giant Organizations Are in Contact with Qualified Workforce
At the strategic meeting coinciding with the 41st anniversary of SSB; In addition to globally recognized flagships such as ASELSAN, TUSAŞ, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, STM and TEI, representatives of SSTEK, Alp Aviation, HEAŞ, Teknopark İstanbul, TR Flight Compliance and TEITECH were present on the field. SSB Vice President Prof. made a comprehensive presentation at the event. Dr. Hakan Karataş conveyed Türkiye's latest breakthroughs in the defense ecosystem and its position in the international arena with concrete figures. Karataş pointed out that the localization rate, which was only around 20 percent in 2002, has climbed to the 83 percent threshold today, and noted that a solid and integrated industrial infrastructure is the basis of this leap.
From Brain Drain to Global Competence Network
This step taken in Munich, one of the technology centers of Europe, once again demonstrates the indispensable role of qualified human resources in the sustainable growth of the defense industry. Domestic companies that have undertaken critical projects in the global market aim to bring their experienced engineering knowledge abroad to the national ecosystem through reverse brain drain and cross-border R&D collaborations. Raising the bar in advanced production technologies and aviation standards, the Turkish technology ecosystem both strengthens its R&D muscles and closes the human resources gap required for the autonomous systems of the future, thanks to these strong ties it has established with the diaspora.
This notable technological development underscores the accelerated pace of digital transformation across key sectors of the global knowledge economy. Organizations capable of adapting swiftly to these technological shifts will capture significant strategic advantages in their respective markets. From the TeknoRest tech desk, we view this development as an essential milestone that will shape industry benchmarks over the coming quarters.
